Description
Here's a lovely original 50th Street copy of Prestige 7029, Sonny Rollins with the Modern Jazz Quartet. This is the early pressing cover with the orange background, as opposed to the yellow that was used later. Cover on this copy grades Ex, with slight rounding at all corners, and some wear on the bottom seam. There are no seam splits, and no writing. Back cover has very slight age discoloration, but much less than do most Prestige LPs from this period. Cover has frame lines, but is also laminated. Disc is even stronger, although I will also call it Ex, because a few hairline scuffs prevent a M- grade. There is one scuff on the first side that is perhaps a quarter of an inch long, but this is also of the whisper variety, and had no sonic effect on my table. Spindle holes show a few marks, indicating that the disc has been played, even if sparingly. Altogether a great copy of a very scarce record. Shipping in the US is $6 or $7 by priority mail, depending on where you live. Airmail shipping to Europe is $12, and to Asia $14. Insurance is optional, and at additional cost. Although records will be well packed, and removed from cover to prevent seam splitting, insurance is a good idea. Unfortunately, this has become such a problem that I will cancel the bids of folks who do not comply). All records are guaranteed, as is my grading. This is not my primary job, but a means of supporting a fairly bad record buying habit. As a result, I know what buyers expect, and act accordingly.
