Description
This is Prestige Records PRLP 7095, Sonny Rollins Plays For Bird a yellow, deep groove, 50th St. NYC label, original mono copy of this classic record with RVG stamped in the dead wax. The record is in G/G+ condition showing lots of marks on both sides. Visually you wouldn't think it would play at all, but remarkably, it plays with no distortion of the music and no skips. Of course there is constant background crackle, worse in some places than others, but certainly still quite listenable. I wouldn't list it otherwise. The glossy cover has top and bottom seam wear and aging appropriate for its age, but the spine is nice and the gloss remains on the cover. The labels are intact. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on an Ariston Q Deck. This would make a very good initial "play" copy of this rare original issue.
