Description
Here is an exceptionally rare and great record release on the Period label (SPL 1204). It's the Sonny Rollins Quintet Plays on side one, along with Thad Jones Ensemble on side two. Original mono microgroove pressing with red, black, white and grey label.
Condition - The jacket shows light wear, including very light moisture damage on back, but overall, it looks pretty nice with no splits. The jacket grades at VG+. The record has been very well-kept. The glassine inner sleeve looks remarkably nice with two corners still turned down. The record looks very shiny with some light signs of wear. Both labels are clean. I gave the vinyl a surface cleaning and played both sides. Side A looks and sounds great. There are a few very light scuffs on side A, and there is a little bit of light surface noise here and there, but that might improve with a deep cleaning. Side A looks and plays Near Mint Minus. Side B has a few more scuffs, particularly in the middle of the record, and those scuffs do cause a bit of light of ticking for several minutes in the middle of side B. There also seemed to be just a bit more general background noise on side B compared to side A, but again, some of this might be improved with a deep cleaning. Side B looks and plays VG+.
Regarding shipping - I ship quickly using new professional grade materials. Shipping charges on this item include insurance at full value, and it will be shipped with full value declared. Sorry, no exceptions.
Regarding grading - I try to grade by Goldmine standards. I do not use the grade Mint on unsealed opened records. The highest grade I give to unsealed records is Near Mint.
