A note on LP Grading-
There seems to be alot of questions as to the grading of LP's and their sleeves. I use the Goldmine grading system, and I am going to lay it out here so that folks who bid on my records know what I look for when I grade an LP.
Mint - Mint is perfect. I personally do not believe in ever grading Mint, unless the item is sealed, and even then it may not be "Mint" per se. You will never see a grade of Mint from me.
Near Mint - You will see this as NM.  For a cover, or jacket, it will look pretty close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age. Minor impressions on the sleeve are acceptable, but the artwork is as close to perfect as can be. NM does NOT, however, mean Mint. I take the age of a record into consideration when I grade NM. If a record is 50 yrs old, I give it a bit more leeway than I would a record pressed 3 years ago.NM for vinyl  means virtually flawless, but not perfect. There may be a small scuff from the inner sleeve, but that's about it. The LP should play with no noise over the scuff. If a scuff covers more than a couple of tracks and can be seen, the record is not NM.
Near Mint Minus - I use this grade in lieu of VG++ or EX. For vinyl, this allows minors scuffs which are visible, but only slightly. Wear will cover fewer than 15% of the LP. Wear is minimal and plays very, very well. Scuffs lay on top of the grooves. Any scratches that can be felt with a fingernail are not scuffs, but scratches, and cannot make this grade. For covers or jackets, artwork is as close to perfect as possible. Minor ring wear is acceptable, as well as slight creases to the corners. No seam splits, writing on the cover or taped repairs can make this grade.
Very Good Plus - For vinyl, VG+ will show wear, surface scuffs and some very light scratches. Vinyl will still have great luster, but flaws will still be noticeable to the naked eye. If the flaws do not make surface noise, the vinyl will make this grade.VG+ for jackets allows for a vitually clean cover, but may have light writing on it (No magic marker or anything crazy). Should be clean with slightly more aging, especially on the back cover. Minor wear to seams or spine, but with no holes torn or popping through. No more than 3 major flaws.
Very Good -  VG grade does not mean very good at all, at least not in the visual sense. Vinyl will appear well played, but still have a bit of luster. Vinyl may appear grayish, yet will appear to have been handled with at least some semblance of care.  Many more surface scratches are allowed, and audible sonic defects WILL be heard, from a few moderate tics and pops to a constant noise floor.  Records that look horrible, but play great with very little noise will fit into this catagory. Now, that being said, if they look horrible, they had better play pretty darn great!VG covers and jackets will have moderate wear and will look obviously used. There may be partial seam splitting (though not completely separated), and there will be moderate ring wear and light snowflaking. Heavy snowflake does not fit into this catagory. VG covers will still have some attractive life to them. A well repaired sleeve is easily acceptable in this catagory.
Very Good Minus -  VG- vinyl will look dull, grayish, and possibly abused. However, a VG- record should still play and be enjoyable. It will have distracting surface noise, such as a crackle that is continuous or some hiss throughout play. It should play without any skips or really loud pops. A VG- record should not be, in all actuallity, damaged, as it is no longer VG-, G, F or otherwise, just trash.A VG- cover will have much heavier ring and ink wear, larger splits that have been repaired (properly... not with duct tape or anything silly), more snowflaking will be visible on the face. the artwork should still be able to be seen and enjoyed. No mildew, tears or gouges in the cover.
Good Plus - G+ vinyl has all the flaws of a VG- record, but really looks beat to hell. Pops and clicks are rampant. There will be significant wear to the spindle hole. A G+ should still, indeed, be playable. Loud Rock records are more forgivable for a G+ than a Classical or Jazz record, where anything below VG is not terribly desirable. Covers for G+ will have just about everything wrong with them. Seam splits, writing on the cover, stickers, shoddy repairs... you name it.
Fair and Poor - These are very nice names for garbage, and that is where I put these records. On rare occasion, I will something in this catagory up due to its' extreme rarity, but I make sure everyone knows what the story is.
Please, Please Please! If you have questions about the grade of a record, just ask!
