Description
This is Riverside Records RLP 12-241, Sonny Rollins The Sound Of Sonny, a white label, deep groove, original mono issue, featuring Sonny Clark. The record is in VG++ condition, with only a few light paper marks, and a 1/8" mark on side 2 track 2 that causes 3 clicks. There is a wide 1" mark on side 1 which does not effect play, and (very)occasional light rumble in the quiet passages side 1 track 6, with the rest of the tracks playing quietly throughout. The original mono sound is truly luminous and transparent. The deep groove labels are excellent, with only light spindle marks. The original glossy cover has a small bit of fraying on the open side, a 1/8" bump, and a 1" split on the spine, but is otherwise excellent and intact. This is a wonderful, collector's grade copy of a very rare original issue. I have entered a reserve. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping on multiple orders. International customers, please wait for an invoice, or contact me about combined shipping rates as Ebay does not provide accurate numbers. Thanks for looking.
