Description
This is Prestige Records PRLP 7047, Sonny Rollins Tenor Madness, a yellow, 446 W.50th St. NYC, deep groove labeled, original mono issue of this classic session with RVG etched in the dead wax, featuring Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones, and for one remarkable track, John Coltrane. The record is in VG+ condition showing marks on both sides but playing with only occasional light background crackle audible in the quiet spots. No skips and no distortion. Nothing to interfere with the enjoyment of music. The laminated cover is excellent and intact (actually - near mint!). The labels are excellent with light spindle marks and a bit of wear on side 2 (see photo). This would make an excellent initial "play" grade copy of this rare original issue. The record has been cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. Please check our other listings as we discount shipping for multiple orders. Thanks for looking.
