Description
We are thrilled and honoured to be offering for sale a number of items from the late Stan Tracey's own personal collection on behalf of his son Clark Tracey. This includes many extremely rare albums, some purchased by Stan during his time in New York, plus test pressings and other gems collected over his lifetime as a musician and composer.
Sonny Rollins - The Sound Of Sonny - a 1961 UK 1st Press Mono released on the white/blue Riverside DG label.
Degritter cleaned, the heavyweight vinyl has a good gloss and no real marks apart from a few cloudy/discolouration patches. Very clean labels and spindle holes - we have graded VG+ conservatively but it plays more EX.
Playback reveals a typically clean and clear mono sound with no issues whatsoever - the vinyl behaves as it should.
The cardboard outer sleeve is solid apart from the spine area which has approx. 70% worn away ( see photos). There is some light staining near the opening plus foxing to the rear which is overall in good readable condition.
The original paper inner sleeve is present, however we have decanted the record into a brand new poly lined inner sleeve to preserve it after cleaning.
A rare copy at a reasonable price to reflect sleeve condition.
We have taken lots of photos in good natural daylight so you can see exactly what you are buying. Please take a moment to look at the photos as they form part of the description. We are pleased to answer any questions you may have.
Selling many other jazz vinyl rarities on separate listings including other items from The Stan Tracey Collection. Much more to be listed over the coming weeks so why not add us to your favourite sellers?
International buyers... Are welcome from most parts of the world. We will only send via International Tracked and Signed and charge a flat rate of £20. Be aware there may be additional taxes and charges imposed by Ebay - please do your research before buying!
