Description
This is Contemporary Records C3530 Sonny Rollins Way Out West, a yellow label, deep groove, original mono issue. Although the cover is the 2nd mono.M3530 issue, the record label says C3530 (LKL 12-238) (see photo) and the LKL matrix is written in dead wax. This is the original mono issue and plays with the expected luminous sound. The record is a very strong VG++ condition showing minimal light paper sleeve marks which keep it from being near mint, but playing quietly throughout. The labels are excellent. The cover (with original inner sleeve) shows some foxing on the upper seam but is excellent and intact. This is a superb copy of this wonderful collector's piece. The record was cleaned on a VPI 17 and played on a Linn Sondek LP12. This is part of a large Jazz record collection I will be offering in the next few months.
