Sonny Stitt ~ 10" Prestige Jazz LP ~ 1951Jazz Saxophone

From 1951 this is a rare 10 inch transparent red vinyl LP featuring jazz

saxophonist Sonny Stitt.  I have listened to both sides of this record and

there is some amazing saxophone work here.  On one side Sonny plays see alto

sax and the tunes are "Liza", "Can't We Be Friends", "Cherokee", and

"Imagination."  On the flip side Sonny performs on a baritone sax "This Can't

Be Love" and " Ps I Love You".  To complete that side he performs on tenor

sax "Nevertheless" and "Mean To Me."  The record is Prestige PRLP 111, Long

Playing Micro groove.  The record has a little surface scuffing and while

surface pops are not nonexistent, they are minor and do not appreciably

detract from the sound.  Overall a VG + copy and as I say terrific

performances.  My price guide indicates this as a highly collectible record

so check out yours and get your bid and early and often to add this great

record to your collection.  Thanks for having a look and for your bids..
