*There is some disagreement amongst fans of this innovative Illinois Metal band as to the exact year of this LP's release. (I'm sticking with 1972 because that's what it says on the LP, even though some believe it was actually released between 1975-78.) This LP is the second part of what is a 2-part prog-metal juggernaut that is arguably one of the more intriguing Metal LP's of the era. Who were these musicians? How did they come up with this music?? A lot of questions and not a lot of definitive answers. This much we could assume: this LP sounds like every track was recorded in a proper recording studio, unlike their first LP which sounds like a couple of tracks may have been recorded at a rehearsal studio or sound board tape from a gig and had vocal tracks added. (Perhaps the band was working with a bigger budget for their 2nd LP?) Things pick-up where they left off on Part 1 with heavy guitar, power-chords, walls of sound, well-rehearsed arrangements including synchronized guitar/bass/drum flurries, transitional materials, and well-timed interruptions. This is a true gem for both Metal fans and collectors!
