Description
Artist & Album Description: Three long blues are offered by three different groups, and the album has the feel of a Blue Note recording on another label, engineered by Rudy Van Gelder.
Side 1 features a single track by the Red Garland Quintet with John Coltrane, Donald Byrd, George Joyner and Arthur Taylor.
Side 2 contains two tracks. The first is by the Prestige All Stars featuring Frank Foster, Donald Byrd, Kenny Burrell, Tommy Flanagan, Doug Watkins and Arthur Taylor; while the second is by the Jackie McLean Quintet with Donald Byrd, Elmo Hope, Doug Watkins and Arthur Taylor.
Record Grading and Condition: VG (Very Good) There is some scratching and scuffing on both sides, but plays OK with some surface noise.
Sleeve Grading: G (Good) There is slight damage at the corners and scuffing at the base. The notes side is discoloured due to age.
Label & Authentication: The sleeve appears to have been produced in the US, identified as a “Prestige/Bluesville Recording”, but post-printed with Prestige Records U.S.A. address and “Distributed by arrangement with Interdisc S.A.”. The disc is labelled Fontana and “Parnes Music” indicating UK pressing.
Note to intending buyers: This posting is from a collection of Jazz Vinyl LPs of varying quality and rarity bought in the 1960s then stored until now. Each record on sale is over 50 years old, so I have tried to be deliberately conservative in stating rating levels according to eBay guidelines. All feedback will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.
