Description

This 10" 78rpm 'The Winner' record (number 3625) features the Southern Rag-a-Jazz Band.The Southern Rag-a-Jazz Band consisted of students of Nebraska University who visited England in 1921; they played at Rector's Supper Club in London and made just three records with Winner.  Members of the band included Gayle V Grubb (piano), Harold Peterson (saxophone), Donville Fairchild (banjo), Bert Reed (trombone), Edward Cressell (violin), A Harold Schmidt ( drums).  This record was made in 1922, the band returning to USA in November 1922.  Visually the record is in good condition with some scuffing and light scratches.
