Specials - " self titled " lp - original 1979 Australian Chrysalis label lp complete with its cover and this copy is pressed on clear vinyl with glitter in the vinyl....it's quite amazing and a total one off...you'll love it !
catalogue # is the same as the normal Australian stock copy : L 37121
this is without a doubt the rarest and most obscure Specials release in the world, chances of seeing another one of these is zero
the glitter picture disk was a new medium that Festival Records was experimenting with here, they manufactured ONE copy for then boss of Festival, Jim White, for him to check the quality and marketing options of this "new innovation" - it is clear see-through vinyl with glitter pressed within the vinyl....and before you ask, yes, it plays fine
I know of a single copy of a Blondie 45 that was also pressed on this same glitter vinyl at the same time but that was as far as it got - Jim White was not satisfied enough with the result and the idea was cancelled. All the above information came directly from someone with inner dealings with vinyl production, within Festival Records at that time
