Description
This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop, jazz & R&B 10" 78's from the late 1940's into the 50's. There are a handful of unusual small labels represented here as well as some promos and several early recordings by performers who would go on to be big stars.
Here's the info on this item:
Release: Henry Pierce & His Five Notes – Thrill Me Baby / Hey Fine Mama
Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record
Year: 1953
Notes: White & black label first pressing. This is the only record recorded by this obscure group. All info regarding the players and the leader seem to have been lost to time. I'd say this is on the softer/jazzier side of R&B.
Record Condition: E+, The record itself is in really nice shape & plays very well, doesn't seem to have been played much at all. No scuffs or scratches, this is about as nice of a record as you are going to find. Sound is clean and clear, no noise. Labels are also very clean with no writing/tears/scuffs. I hate to call anything 70+ years old near mint, but this is really a top notch copy.
All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in an oversize box for maximum protection.
I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item. If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
