Description

"Spectrum in Black: Poems by 20th Century Black Poets" is a double album (gatefold sleeve) released by Scott, Foresman & Company in 1971.
From the liner notes: "This two-record album includes forty-nine poems by twenty-eight 20th century black poets. These poems were chosen from hundreds of published and unpublished poems, many of which were presented to classes on tape and discussed with students and teachers. The poems included here were chosen to be recorded because they represent a spectrum of modern, black, poetic expression in structure, theme and emotional content. The protest, love, anger, personal incident, historical perspective, and portraiture inherent in these selections offer insight into 20th century black literary America."
The poets include Robert Hayden, Carolyn Rodgers, Johari Amini, Louise Meriwether (as Louise Jenkins), and many others.
The vinyl grades NM, with no visible flaws - appears unplayed. The laminated sleeve is VG+ with light scuffing, spine a bit cocked, small tear at the front top right corner visible if you open the gatefold.

International buyers – please note: Import duties, taxes, and charges aren't included in the item price or postage cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
