Description
Spike Hughes and His Orchestra play two hot tunes, "Get Happy" and "Doing Things" [sic; the Venuti/Lang tune] on Decca F 2150. There are many fine solos.
Norman Payne (tp); Jock Fleming (tb); Harry Hines (cl,as); Philip Buchel (as); Buddy Featherstonhaugh (ts); Eddie Carroll (p); Alan Ferguson (g); Spike Hughes (b); Bill Harty (d). Recorded in London on October 22 and November 5, 1930.
This record is in EE- condition visually, but plays around V+ with some distortion in some of the loudest passages. Despite these flaws, the music is very enjoyable.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
