Description
Spilverk þjóðanna
Cat # (EGG 1014) original pressed in 1975.
The gimmix cover is VG due to tape on cover and a split at the top perforation at the handle (see scans) and some creases here and there.
The light blue eight page insert has a bit (about a square inch) of paper missing at the lower right back page.
The disc is in superb condition...a few wispy hairlines are just visible under a strong light. The translucent vinyl is a wine red colour when held up to a strong light. Overall grade for the vinyl is a strong VG++. Plays quietly on my Linn table with a new stylus..although I do hear a some tics on the last cut on side two at the end of the song.
The vocals (some male, some female) are sung in English, the longer cuts have a cool melancholy vibe...others are fragile and dreamy. This is a very rare record, and is listed in one of Hans Pookora's books with a four disc rating. I don't recall which edition ...but it was right next to Trubrot (another excellent lp from Iceland).
Thanks for looking
