Original UK CBS rough orange label stereo press.

The third album from Spirit originally released in September 1969. Spirit evolved from a Los Angeles band, the Red Roosters, which included Randy California, Mark Andes and Jay Ferguson. With the addition of California's stepfather Ed Cassidy on drums and keyboard player John Locke, the new band was originally named the Spirits Rebellious (after a book by Kahil Gibran), but the name was soon shortened to Spirit. The album was recorded late in 1968 & during touring in 1969, after the band had been involved with the making of the film 'Model Shop', which they appeared in and provided the soundtrack.

This is the original issue with the rough orange CBS labels, the earliest A-2 B-1 matrices and B-3 A-8 mother stampers of the first press!
  The front laminated sleeve is intact and in EX condition with some very light corner/edge wear and some light laminate rubbing/creasing on the front cover, with some light storage rubbing on the unlaminated rear. The CBS company inner is intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with a few faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few faint spindle markings on each side.   The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; SBPG-63729, A-2 stamper B-3, B-1 stamper A-8. This is one of the early pressings of the original 1969 UK stereo issue of this album!
