Description
Splinter's brilliant first Dark Horse 1974 album The Place I Love produced by George Harrison….This album was recorded at George's Friar Park Studios and George has played on every track of this marvelous record.
Songs like Somebody's City with its Hey Jude like horn arrangement at the end and the haunting harmonious China Light echoes a serene feeling to whoever listens to this beautiful song and album….The opening cut Gravy train is an all out rocker.
If you like George Harrison….You have to get this record…I don't care who you get it from…Just get it….The Place I love sadly received virtually no air play when it came out…Discover it…You'll be happy you did.
Some of the other musicians on this album include: Billy Preston, Gary Wright, Mike Kelly (Spooky Tooth), Klaus Voorman, Mel Collins (King Crimson,Rolling Stones (Miss You), Dire Straits Etc, Alvin Lee (Ten Years After), Jim Keltner and Willie Weeks.
The record grades Near Mint.
This gatefold record cover grades Near Mint (see scans).
Comes with the original and really nice Dark Horse inner sleeve (see scan).
I've been collecting records for over 55 years now and this album is from my personal collection.
