Split Enz True Colours Test Pressing vinyl is NOT lazer etched

Split Enz  "True Colours"

This is a US vinyl pressing on A&M 4822  from 1980.     This is a test pressing.   It comes in a plain white cover with an 8 X 11 info sheet taped to the front.   The record number and artist name is stamped on the cover at top right.    ( and 'Larry' is written too)   On the info sheet the first song "I Got You' is circled and noted as a 45.       The labels are white and say : "A&M TEST PRESSING, This is a test pressing intended for use in determining the technical quality of the recording only.   It is not to be sold or distributed to the public.   NOT YET APPROVED ( limited distribution).'    Then there are blanks for Selection Number, Date Pressed, Artist, then 1980 A&M Records Inc, Pressed by CBS Records, Santa Maria'.

Unlike all of the stock copies of this album, the vinyl is NOT lazer etched.    

The matrix numbers are hand etched : Side one : SP-04822-AS-SM-3 and Side two : SP-04822-BS-SM-1 .

The songs are :  I Got You, Shark Attack, What's The Matter With You, Double Happy, I Wouldn't Dream Of It, I Hope I Never, Nobody Takes Me Seriously, Missing Person, Poor Boy, How Can I Resist Her, and The Choral Sea.

Why are test pressing so rare ??      A test pressing is the very first pressing of a record.    It's made so that the artist, producer, engineer, and record company executives can approve the record.    They are pressed in extremely limited numbers ( like 50 to 100 ) and are never repressed.    They are sent out to selected people before the cover and labels have been printed. 

Overall Condition :  Cover : M- / Record : M-

The cover is Minit minus.   There are no seam splits and there is no ring wear.    There is a slight impression from the record, only on the back cover.     The info sheet is in nice condition, with minor writing.     The vinyl looks near mint and it plays near mint.     The labels have no spindle marks.  

I will package this record between two pieces of 1/2 inch thick cardboard.    ( It's so thick that you will save it and use again. )    It will weigh 21 ounces ( 1 pound, 5 ounces ) when ready to ship.    You can figure out your own postage costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    It will be sent by First Class Mail International to overseas buyers.   ( Buyers from Italy will assume all risks for shipping to their country)   I will send it as soon as you pay ( same day of before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM )      I will combine postage if you win more than one record.     This record is from a no smoking and no pets home.
