Description
Up for sale is the almost unobtainable original black vinyl promotional copy of Spong's breakout recording, Rotting Pinata. This has the original drill hole in the upper right, that goes through both sides of the sleeve and inner sleeve. There is a rather large scratch on and between the first two tracks, which plays as a loud pop, but does not skip, while being played on my Yamaha PX-2 with a Grado Prestige Gold cartridge, tracking at 1.75 grams. I wish this was perfect, but it is exactly as it came to me in 1996, when I pulled it from the bins at Everyday Music in Portland Oregon. I assume this was 94.7 KNRKs copy, but I am just guessing. The rest of the record plays good, no hissing or needle burn, and the hit Molly is unaffected.
If you like Sponge and collect record, this is a must have. I have looked on eBay weekly for about the last three months and none have surfaced, so it is truly rare.
