What is it: Spooky Tooth - Tobacco Road (Australian Festival/Island SIL-934230)
As you may be able to work out from my seller name, I am from Carlisle in Cumbria, and Spooky Tooth (previously Art) were the only band of any note to have come from my home town. Here I present odd, pink Island versions of their first two LPs - a psychedelic masterpiece followed by a foundation hard rock LP. Both of these come from Australia, but the first one is in better nick than the second, so let's just say I am selling you the first one and giving away the second for nothing (the back of its sleeve has been messed up as it got stuck to another record at some point). These will be much cheaper than UK originals, and they have Pink 'i' style labels, like original copies of Jethro Tull's Stand Up or Fairport Convention's Liege and Lief. The grading below is just for the first LP, which was released in England as It's All About A Roundabout, and then in the United States (and clearly Australia) as Tobacco Road. For those who don't know what it sounds like, it's a bit like Traffic, and their version of Society's Child is BRILLIANT, LIKE EH (joke for Cumbrian people).
The record: VG+ - It sounds great and looks really good too. NB: see my note below as to what the grading VG means. This is a record that has been looked after very well (as indeed does the Aussie copy of Spooky Two, which comes free with this).
The sleeve: VG+ - A matte sleeve, it has got a bit grubby round one edge and the spine has burst in the middle, but unless you have some kind of obsessive compulsive thing about sleeves being utterly perfect, you are going to be more than happy with this.
Trust my gradings! I worked in the rarities department of a famous London record shop chain and I grade old school. If I say something is VG I am speaking Old School Record Collector grading - i.e. a record that has been very well looked after, not (as you see all the time on eBay) something that has been found in a lake. And I don't grade anything MINT unless I know it is unplayed.
I post everywhere, and my rates are fair. I will endeavour to send expensive things signed-for, and will provide proof of postage if necessary and help you hound the postal service if anything goes missing (hasn't happened to me yet - touch wood).
NB: I recycle packaging - it's cheap and (in environmental terms) it's the right thing to do.
