Still Sealed, Long Out of Print

This is the early/original Speakers Corner version mastered by Kevin Gray in 1999.  This title was reissued in 2007, that is the one still available at some of the online stores today, but I don’t know who mastered the 2007 reissue.  The Discogs website lists the 2007 reissue and gives the deadwax information, which does NOT include Kevin Gray’s initials. 

The Discogs listing for the 2007 Speakers Corner reissue mentions the original 180g Speakers Corner issue from 1999, but there is no separate listing for it.

Their listing for the 2007 reissue says: “This is not the first reissue on Speakers corner (dated march 1999), but a subsequent reissue. This [2007] release on Speakers corner uses original artwork and can be distinguished by a sticker on  the shrink wrap with the label name and denoting this release as a "180g Virgin Vinyl / High Quality  Pressing / Audiophile Mastering". Added is a catalog of 2007 Speakers corner releases.”

The example offered here does NOT have the sticker used for 2007, and I am sure it is the original Speakers Corner issue from 1999 because I purchased this new from Tom Port’s store in 2004, 3 years before the later reissue existed.

It is a flat transfer from the original 1963 Verve stereo master tape, no equalization or compression. 

Astrud Gilberto’s voice is on the Left, matching the original master tape, as opposed to the reversed channels found on most reissues.

Note that the barcode sticker is on the outer plastic shrink-wrap, *not* on the cover itself.

Packaging: The sealed album will be placed in a clear outer protective sleeve, then sandwiched between two large cardboard stiffener pads and carefully taped together.  I have used this method for many years to practically eliminate seam splits on sealed LPs.  The album is then packaged with bubble-wrap and Styrofoam peanuts in an oversize box.  I know what it is like to receive poorly packaged records, you will not have that experience with me!

Tracking: You should automatically receive your Tracking Number by email when the Shipping Label is printed.
