Description
Ultra rare 1959 jazz LP issued on the famous black and gold Parlophone label - very rarely seen in the UK.
Top notch line-up sees drummer Stan Levey backed by Conte Candoli (trumpet), Dexter Gordon (tenor), Frank Rosolini (trombone), Leroy Vinnegar (bass) and Lou Levy (piano).
This is a heavyweight first pressing and it still sounds great, despite a few tics and some surface noise at times. It plays through with no skips or sticks and a deep clean would probably improve it further. I'd grade the vinyl VG+ for the audio, and Good + visually.
These thin flimsy 1950s sleeves are hard to find intact after more than 60 years but this is in pretty decent shape - no seam splits or significant edge or corner wear. There's a little rub on the spine, some ringwear front and back and a name written on the top flipback. It grades VG+.
The Parlophone labels are in excellent shape, and it comes with the original thick paper fully lined inner sleeve in excellent order.
