Description
Here is the 1980 pressing of the 2 LP album of the soundtrack from "The Empire Strikes Back". I probably bought this album new in 1980 or 1981. I do not pretend to be any kind of expert when it comes to record grading, but I have been listening to/collecting classical music on vinyl for over 50 years so am used to listening to this type of music. This John Williams score sounds like something Richard Wagner would have done with all its motifs. I listened to all 4 sides last week using ear buds and have come up with the following:
Side 1 VG+ has a very slight scratch for the first minute of the side Side 2 VG+--NM has one "pop" Side 3 VG+--NM has one slight scratch for one revolution Side 4 VG+--NM has one slight scratch for one revolution
The album itself is in G-VG shape for being some 40 years old. Other than showing some normal shelf life wear the only issues I want to bring to your attention is the slight tear on the front cover (see photo 11) and the fact that you can see the outline of the records themselves on both the front and back covers. The corners are still fairly sharp but do show their 40 year old age. Photo 12 is a good example
I figure the last time I listened to this album was over 25 years ago before I moved to my present house.
I'm selling it as I've just turned 70 so it's time for me to start "de-collecting". By selling this on ebay I'm sure it'll go to someone who will appreciate it. I'll be selling other soundtrack albums as well as monster movie related items in the next few weeks.
