Some very rare SAX Columbia related pressings tonight, and through this week, pause a while and have a look and listen to the others.

An impossible to find STEREO copy of Starker playing, and Giulini conducting Haydn and Boccherini CELLO concerto's officially only issued in MONO in the UK columbia series as 33CX 1665. Here is a Stereo, pressed from YAX 273 YAX 274 stampers All codes on the dead wax are hand etched style, and also printed on the centre label (see photo )

Sample is about 4 minutes, 2 minutes 25 seconds side 1 Side 2 starts at 2 minutes 40 seconds  with a 15 second gap so I can flip the disc.

NO VISIBLE MARKS ON THE RECORD, Although introduction both sides has some initial spasmodic ticks from, stuck dust? most that I heard throughout the record came off on second replay as I heard them, by replaying that section. there are a ONLY A few very faint or fine paper scuffs, but this record has no effect from any small marks visible, all plays as same quality as this sample. , As you can hear, very clean, after the run ins. The rest plays no worse mostly better, than this.

Summary rating DISC NM- (intro clicks), cover VG+ see details below This is pressed from a Columbia original recording imported from the UK or USA to EMI australia and pressed in the early 70's then retailed thru their Mail order division, known in Australia as the World Record Club, MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTION MUCH FURTHER DOWN.

Another point to know is The mail order division only pressed according to the number of pre orders recieved by members from their annual catalogue, so each catalogue item was pressed to order not pressed en masse then held until sold. That sounds like a limited edition by order only to me!!!

This is an Australian pressed copy of the rare Columbia SAX ???? LP, issued through HMV Mail order in Australia (Australian World Record club). The UK stereo edition was never issued, only as mono 33cx1665.

 If you can get a cleaner sounding UK copy, for this money, I suggest you go buy it. Plays very cleanly, only the faintest of vinyl noise in this with normal occasional tics, a few more near vinyl edge during first 5 minutes each side, but not distracting. There is no loud music to mask any vinyl damage noise.
so here's a good way to get the music on a record that besides some random soft static like pops in quiet passages , has only paper scuffs in sunlight . Both sides OCCASIONAL pops and tics especially in quiet passages

NO Rotational spindle marks, on either side, indicating it has been played rarely, Original plastic only sleeve is undamaged,

LP (see photo's) rated 'Near Mint'.

Cover shows start of front cover ring wear in angled reflective light only, all is visible in photo's. rear has more rubbing with ring wear.  NO SEAM SPLITS, .
