Description
Status Quo - Mean Girl / Unknown Beat Band - Blue Green and Gold - UK M&M / EMIDISC Acetate 7” - Rock Psych Status Quo 60s UK Beat Mod - HEAR
Title: Mean Girl / Blue Green and Gold
Artist: Status Quo / Unknown Beat Band
Country: UK
Label: M&M / Emidisc Acetate
Other Info: Rare one off acetate of Status Quo, this track had a release in 1973 but was recorded in 1970/71 which is when I guess this acetate dates from? The track runs to 3:39, no idea if it is exactly the same mix as the eventual release? (listen to sound file for confirmation). At the time the studio obviously recycled acetates to use, as the other side is completely unrelated to Status Quo and obviously 60s orientated! Presumably, it had hung around in the studio for a number of years before being reused! The other side is a completely obscure and unknown 60s British beat Mod band, never released (as far as I know). Blank, typed, M&M / Emidisc l
Sound File
The sound file will probably not be accessible via mobile phones etc but should be via computer.
The two sound files are from the actual record offered with no manipulation.
Record Condition
Vinyl Visually Looks: VG (Unfortunately acetates were never made for longevity, they were just basic one off listening devices, hence the audio quality is never quite as standard as any final vinyl issues.
They also have a tendency to corode due to the metal under the thin vinyl layer. This one shows no signs of corrosion.
Due to the metal and antiquity they quite often are found with white pores, like a fine dust, which usually leave some amount of cloudy staining after cleaning. This one has no signs of cloudy staining indeed still retains a good full vinyl sheen.
It does have numerous light mostly superficial hairlines and scuffs.
The music plays through very well, for the most part nice and clear, just a few minor ticks in first nine seconds of ‘Mean Girl’ and a little light minimal background on ‘Blue Green & Gold’. For an early 1970s acetate it is in great shape.
There might be scope to clean up the recording further either manually or digitally.)

Postage
I do not allow records to be personally collected. All must be sent via postal or courier service.
I will post to most but not all countries in the World.
I will combine postage if you buy more than one item. Please wait for me to send you a revised invoice to charge you postage at cost. Postage costs are the same for 1-3 records.
All records are sent in manufactured record mailers with cardboard stiffeners. The vinyl and cover are separated to avoid seam splits in transit.
I calculate postage using the Royal mail postage calculator. I charge an extra 50p for packing materials as i buy specialist record mailers and stiffeners. Sometimes records cost less to mail than i expect. In these cases i try to refund the difference.

Grading Conditions
I grade the records condition visually only, unless I state what the record actually plays like and provide an audio MP3 sample. This is because I do not always have time to play everything, so bear this in mind.
I am strict with my grading so you can feel confident in my conclusions. My feedback will reflect this.
I do NOT use the grading ‘MINT’ (other than the very rare occasion the record is still sealed). My ‘EXCELLENT’ grading will mean the record will still have a full sheen with clean vinyl and the sleeve will be free from rips, tears, seam splits. Any further information like slight defects or type of sleeve will be in brackets after the grading.
Anyone unhappy solely with my visual grading can return item for refund. However if I have provided pictures and sound files then I do not accept returns on basis of condition.
MINT: Only used if sealed.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some light signs of having been played, but there is very little or no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has obviously been over played, and will probably display deterioration in sound quality, it will probably have lots of fine lines and the odd scratch. Wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
