Description
This record was released for Record Store Day 2013 and is sealed and in mint condition. It is a limited edition green colored vinyl, Record Store Day Exclusive, and one of only 1200 released. It includes a custom designed jacket, and Japanese resealable mylar bag. It will be carefully packaged in a premium LP record mailer and shipped with a tracking number.

Headlining 2012’s Week-End Fest in Cologne, Stephen Malkmus (celebrated member of Kim’s Bedroom, The Crust Brothers, Silver Jews, The Jicks & Pavement) gathered with the German quartet Von Spar to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Can’s landmark album Ege Bamyasi.
The live performance is as brilliant as the title suggests, Malkmus’ trademark guitar wizardry & snarky vocals atop Von Spar’s in-pocket propulsive backing approaches the perfect, primal, jittering prog pang of Can’s original.
Beyond the thrilling listen the album is also a document of Malkmus’ long-professed love of Can and krautrock. In fact, Malkmus admits that Pavement’s “Stop Breathing” is directly inspired by “Sing Swan Song”.
That Can’s Jaki Liebezeit, Irmin Schmidt & the daughters of the late Michael Karoli were in attendance at the show is both a glowing endorsement of the performance, and also brings everything full circle.
