STEPPENWOLF -- STEPPENWOLF (THE SELF-TITLED FIRST ALBUM
ORIGINAL 1968 DUNHILL RECORDS STEREO LP DS-50029 (U.S. PRESSING)
Still sealed guaranteed original first pressing (reissues have plain white covers)
Believed to be pressed on the original black Dunhill label with multicolored logo on top.
The thickness of the vinyl, the appearance and the construction of the cover, label’s logo and other peripheral elements of the cover, are all perfectly consistent with the original, first pressing of this title.
ORIGINAL MIRROR-LIKE ALUMINUM FOIL FRONT COVER
There are no “breathe” (air) holes noted on the shrink wrap. Slight corner bends. Some separation at top of cover caused by shipping record shift. There is no damage to the delicate foil cover.
NOTE: This delicate, frail, foil-like cover is EXTREMELY susceptible to wear and tear. This cover is in a truly immaculate condition, amazing for a 1967 record album. Definitely a collector’s copy.
· THICK CARDBOARD COVER, AMERICAN STYLE.
· THICK, HEAVY VINYL PRESSING
PLEASE SEE THE IMAGES OF THE FRONT AND BACK COVER.
(Note: These are the REAL scanned untouched images of the ACTUAL item offered.)
This first pressing brings out the very best of their sound, as in "The Pusher" which simply sparkles, as if just having taken an acoustic scrubbing. And then, there are such period gems such as "Born to be wild" which will have you play the air guitar in your living room in no time. Miss this awesome album now, and you will soon discover that these original pressings are getting increasingly hard to find.
Tracklist is available on cover back scan.
