Description

Steve Halpern

Christening for Listening - A Soundtrack for Everybody

Open Channel Sound 1975

An all time favourite on the private pressed and hard to come by Open Channel label. Yes, this LP contains the sought after track "Something For Everybody Suite" - an epic near 10 minute track with monster drum breaks and all round killer groove from the uptempo horn led psych funk at the start into downtempo drum, electric piano and Fender bass groove with heavy drum breaks and finally into spaced out Placebo style outro.

What makes this even harder to come by is there are two pressings of the LP, the first with this track and the second without. Apparently Halpern removed it himself 'cause it didn't fit in with the rest of the LP.....doh....new age spiritualists!
