Steve & The Board ORIG OZ LP Giggle eyed goo NM 90 Raven RVLP42 Garage Punk Beat

Steve & The Board

And the giggle eyed goo

Original OZ LP released in 1990 on Raven Records. Cat: RVLP42.

In the short time they were around, Steve & The Board supplied listeners with a menu of sublime and snotty garage-punk songs and a wild stage presence. Formed in late '65, the group was unusually one of the very few young Australian beat units to be allowed the indulgence of an album without a string of chart hits behind them. This situation may be attributable to the fact that Steve's dad just happened to be the boss of Spin Records producer, songwriter and entrepreneur Nat Kipner, who had previously been one of the partners in Ivan Dayman's Sunshine label. Features their only album plus 4 bonus single tracks.

Tracks: The giggle eyed goo/ I’m to blame/ Rosalyn/ I’ve just realised/ Margot/ Rosemarie/ Now I’m older/ So why pretend?/ I want/ I call my woman hinges (cause she’s something to adore)/ Little miss rhythm & blues/ Farmer John/ Love’s made a fool of you/ Lonely winter/ Good for nothing Sue/ Sally was a good old girl.
