Hello, here you are bidding on the vintage Stranglers album Black And White released in 1978 on the United Artists label (cat no UAK 30222). The album has been dedicated to a female fan Kirsty (apparently from the Glasgow area) by Dave Greenfield. The record has also been signed by Hugh (Cornwell) who has hand written ''Bring back hanging around'', by Jet Black and (not actually signed) by Jean Jacques Burnel who has enigmatically written: 551646 C'est Moi). In addition when I purchased this record I found inside two separate hand written letters from Dave Greenfield to the aforementioned Kirsty who he hopes to meet up with in Glasgow when they tour there. The letters date to March & September 1978 and provide undisputable proof that this record was indeed signed by the band in 1978.
For reasons of privacy I will not go into detail about what is written on these letters but there are vague references to their upcoming tour, the Glasgow gig and the sound check routine. Please contact me if you require further details re the letters which have both been signed by Dave Greenfield.
The album sleeve itself has a very small water/liquid stain at its top right hand corner and is generally a bit grubby. In addition it has slight corner and edge wear but no rips or tears. The inner sleeve is again untorn but exhibits some ring wear and is again a bit marked and grubby. The vinyl itself exhibits a few light marks & superficial scratches and plays through with a fair bit of surface noise (''crackling'') audible. I'm sure the record could easily be replaced by any purchaser.
I'm sure you will agree that this is a unique piece of Stranglers/Dave Greenfield rock memorabilia.
