The music on A Spirit Speaks is a treasure trove of classical African-American music -- It is a unique blend of heart moving, soul stirring sensations with terrific instrumentions, evoking golden rays of spirituals, blues, and Jazz mixes and topped by layers of beautiful female vocals. The Descendants of Mike and Phoebe – A Spirit Speaks was Bill Lee’s band out of Cleveland, Ohio (Bill's son is Director Spike Lee’s)...A Spirit Speaks remains a very unknown LP, but considered a highly regarded holy grail treasure for those who have experienced the warm complex trips within this world of sublime spiritual jazz/soul/blues. Anything that The Lee family touched is beautiful. The personel consists of 4 of the 7 children born to Mike & Phoebe Lee of Snow Hill, Alabama.
