Description

Up for auction is Stravinsky’s The Fire Bird (compete ballet) record that features Ernest Ansermet conducting L’Orchestre De La Suisse Romande. 

 

This original recording by the Decca Record Co.  Ltd London England is marked with “Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound,” “Recording First Published 1958” and “Made in England.”

CONDITION

The overall appearance of the front cover is OK but as you can see from the photos there is damage and 2 tears at the bottom. There is no writing on the cover.  The back cover is clean but has damage to the bottom. 

The inner sleeve is excellent. 

The vinyl itself has a nice sheen and has a few light scratches on each side.  As indicated on side 1 there is a scuff mark but this does not seem to affect play. I have played it on my Schneider stereo and everything was OK apart from a definite click on side 2 at the start. I have NOT tried to clean the cover or the vinyl – I will leave that up to the winning bidder.
