Description
Transcription disc (acetate on metal base), 9 12” discs in set, 78rpm, 17 sides (1 side given over to announcement of contents and performers). TD12, Stravinsky: L’Histoire du soldat. Dmitri Mitropoulos, conductor; Adolph Anderson, narrator; Isidore Cohen, violin; Stuart Sankey, double bass; Claude Williams, clarinet; Robert Landhoff (sp?), trumpet; Raymond Ojeda (sp?), bassoon; Murray Blumental (sp?), trombone; Richard Kopp (sp?), percussion; live performance of May 22, 1948 from Juilliard School of Music.
IMPORTANT NOTE: All of these items (labeled TD for transcription disc) are unique or almost unique items, never issued commercially anywhere, as far as I know. I have not graded any of them as “mint” or “like new”, since even if they look perfect, they will have numerous pops and ticks. PLEASE NOTE also that I do not guarantee that any item, no matter what the grade, will play all the way through without any sticks or skips, although I also firmly believe that most of them will do so. The acetate material that these were made from does degrade after enough years pass, or if it is played numerous times! I did at least spot check each disc to make sure it would play in the areas I checked.
