Description

I am selling off a few of my record collection, which was passed to me from a family member who had bought all of his collection when they first appeared, hence most are first pressings.    I am not a record dealer, but have asked advice from a trusted seller who has helped me with the visual grading of the vinyl and covers, which have been calculated as per the Record Collector Grading System.  I have personally played each record unless otherwise stated, and the audio evaluation is hopefully an accurate reflection. I’m confident that the winning bidder will be more than happy with the record, but if not, please contact me immediately, and I will give a full refund, less postage, on return of the record within 5 working days, subject to conditions noted further down the listing.  I have sold many things on Ebay, and have 100% positive feedback on over 1400 transactions, so please be assured I do not try to over-egg any items!

Country of Manufacture: no idea!

Release date: 1971.

Mothers / Stamper codes; Side 1; G. Side 2; 0.

Vinyl weight: 140 grammes, according to my digital kitchen scales.

Cover/sleeve;  this is an un-laminated sleeve by MacNeil Press.  Front and rear are excellent, with slight rim marks and a few small short crease like marks coming from the spine and at 90 degrees to it.   All edges and spine in excellent condition, with very slight shelf marks, and the opening for the disc has very slight wear. Text still clear on spine. Corners have inevitable but very slight rub marks.  The cover shows no stickers, rips, tears, handwriting or noticeable stains.  This is in excellent condition for a 41 year old sleeve.

Inner sleeve; what I assume is the original poly-lined inner advertising other bands, which has some unsurprising browning to edges and some creases to corners, plus 3 small tears, 2 at opening and one at centre, but no paper missing. No hand writing etc .

Vinyl;

Visual grading; side 1 shows a couple of hardly visible surface marks, whist side 2 shows none. No other defects so this is graded at Ex.   If I wasn’t so picky this could be graded at Ex+.

Audio grading; I have listened to the album in its entirety, through my Pro-ject deck and headphones. Whilst some deeper marks are visible, I could not detect these on listening through headphones. The sound is superb, and the minimal background hiss audible on the quietest moments could be down to my system, and I doubt this album has been played more than a very few times.  There are no jumps, pops or other audible features that detract from the sound whatsoever. I won’t be too unhappy if this doesn’t sell as it is an excellent album!

Here is the guide from Record Collector publications for reference.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

Postage and packing;

 I will post the album in a new, purpose made cardboard mailer, using stiffeners as necessary, within 2 working days of payment.  I will place the vinyl inside the inner sleeve, whether the original or a new poly sleeve, but outside the outer sleeve, to avoid any sleeve splitting.

If the final cost is under £50, cost is £4.50 UK inland first class Royal Mail (sign for).

If the final cost is over £50, sign for, next day delivery with insurance is a condition of bidding, and this will cost £8.00. Please wait for an invoice before paying if over £50.

Please only bid if you intend to honour the commitment, and if under 10 positive feedbacks, please contact me before bidding or I will remove bids. Sorry, but there are a few out there!

Payment;

Please pay using Paypal, within 48 hours of auction end. If payment is not made within set limits by Ebay,  I reserve the right to relist the album or offer to the second highest bidder.

Returns:

As stated previously, I am not a record dealer, and so if the record is really not as I have described, or has defects that I have not noted, I am happy to offer a full refund, once agreed, and if returned in same condition, within 5 working days. Please do read the listing in full, as I am not prepared to refund if any defects have been described above.

Any questions?

Please email me with any questions, and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.  Please have a look at my other listings for a few good albums, mainly progressive rock.  Thanks for looking!
