Description

A rare 1981 self-produced LP by Sun Ra - El Saturn SP 7288, Oblique Parallax, sold off of the bandstand and at select record stores.  A live recording emphasizing Ra's keyboard.  On Celestial Realms and the first part of Journey Stars Beyond, he is joined by Vincent Chancey-french horn  and Eric "Samarai" Walker- drums. The middle section of Journey Stars Beyond  has a cameo appearance by the Arkestra. Jazz Center Detroit, 7/28/1981 (location according to Vincent Chancey.  Could, however, be from 12/80, when the band was "in residency" there.)  Other Arkestra members appearing are Marshall Allen (track 2), Danny Thompson, (track 2),  Eloe Omoe (track 2), John Gilmore (track 2) and others.
The tunes are: Oblique Parallax Vista Omniverse Celectial Realms Journey Stars Beyond   The vinyl is NM - looks unplayed except for a few spindle marks. The label is obviously glued on.  Jacket is a generic white sleeve (see photo)
