Description

Rare, original pressing of Sun Ra's "Hidden Fire 1/2" on Saturn.  This is one of the last recordings he issued on his own label, recorded on January 29 and 30, 1988 at the Knitting Factory in New York City. Side A has but a single track, "My Brother the Wind and Sun #9", mx 13088; Side B has two tracks, both unidentified titles, mx 12988B.  Labels are blank and the art cover is a utility type, frequently seen on Saturn titles.  It is not known if this recording ever had a legitimate art cover or printed labels.  The playing surface is in near-new condition, with a high luster; perhaps played once or twice.

Personnel includes Billy Bang, John Gilmore, and Marshall Allen.
