This is an original recording released on Columbia Records.

"Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down" is a song written by Kris Kristofferson that became a number one hit on the Billboard US Country charts for Johnny Cash. The B Side was the live performance of “I’m Gonna Try To Be That Way”, written by Johnny Cash.

The biggest success for the song came from the Johnny Cash performance, which had been taped live at the Ryman Auditorium during a taping of The Johnny Cash Show With the monologue edited off, it would appear on the soundtrack LP The Johnny Cash Show the following year, as well as being issued as a single (Columbia Records 4-45211). Cash's version won the Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year in 1970 and hit number one on the country chart.[1]

It carries a letter of authenticity from Mike Horan, Bill Miller (Founder of the Johnny Cash Museum).

This item is offered from the private collection of Mike Horan. Mr. Horan is one of the premiere collectors of Johnny Cash items. He created one of the first websites dedicated to the legacy of the Man in Black during the early days of the web. Mr. Horan was also a featured DJ on Johnny Cash Radio and was one of the fellow creators brought in to establish the award winning Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville. Collection items of Mr. Horan are also on display at the Johnny Cash Farm housed in Bon Aqua. Mr. Horan has also played guitar with the Johnny Cash band, operated Johnny Cash celebration events, and been a featured speaker at those Cash events.
