Sunn O))) / Earth split 12", 'Coma Mirror / Plague Of Angels' on Southern Lord, recorded 2005. On gold-coloured vinyl with picture inner sleeve. Limited to 2000 copies. Originally only available on the 2006 European tour!
Sometimes referred to as 'Angel Coma' this 12" offers a side apiece from Sunn O))) and Earth, showcasing the kinds of sounds the two bands were exploring on their most recent albums at the time (Black One and Hex, respectively.) Sunn O)))'s 'Coma Mirror' is a typically dense and immersive drone-drift with disturbing shrieked vocals from Californian Black Metal legend Xasthur (who accompanied them on this tour.) Earth's 'Plague Of Angels' by contrast is a beautiful extended piece in their slow and spacious "doom-country" style, shimmering guitar lines unfolding gradually over a background drone like dust swirling across a moonlit prairie, held together by Adrienne Davies' innovative, restrained drumming, eventually resolving in a surprisingly uplifting conclusion.
Purchased at a show Sunn O))) & Earth played at the Cockpit in Leeds, February 2006.
Sleeve: both outer and inner sleeves in Near Mint condition, with clear plastic cover for outer. Record: Excellent/Near Mint condition, only played a couple of times.
