Description

Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab Original Master Recording, MFSL 1-005, one of the first titles in the original MoFi catalog, half-speed mastered by Stan Ricker at JVC and pressed in Japan on High Definition Super Vinyl. Among audiophiles this has always been one of the benchmark MoFis, mentioned in the same breath as their Dark Side of the Moon as an ultimate system test.

Supertramp's 1974 breakthrough, produced by Ken Scott, recorded at Trident, Ramport, and Scorpio Sound in London: School, Bloody Well Right, Hide In Your Shell, Dreamer, Rudy, and the title track. This is the album where the classic Davies and Hodgson lineup arrived fully formed, and the Ken Scott production is exactly the kind of layered, dynamic recording the half-speed treatment was built for.

This copy is unusually complete: original static-free rice paper inner sleeve, the fold-out Original Master Recordings catalog insert, and the original MFSL Certificate of Limited Warranty with the untorn business reply registration card and defect report form. Forty-plus years on, almost nobody kept the paperwork. This one has it all.

Condition
