Description

From 1974, Supertramp's 'Crime of the Century'....no doubt one of the finest albums to come out of the 1970s.  After the group's first two albums went virtually unnoticed, Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson had to come up with something more appealing in order to keep the band alive.  They recruited a new line-up and with the help of producer Ken Scott, found their high-voiced, sax and keyboard dominated pop style which became their trademark.  'Crime of the Century' was their first (and best) album which showcased this new sound and direction.  
Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab chose this album to kick-start their now legendary and highly regarded UHQR (Ultra High Quality Recording) pressings.  Released in June 1981 (MFQR-1-005) the audio from this pressing is simply beyond belief.  The bass and drums in particular seem to have an almost 3-dimensional feel.....the piano solo from the song 'School' is right there in your room.  Stunning.  Nothing can beat the depth of detail and clarity from this pressing.  If you know this album well and have a well set-up turntable and sound system, you will be blown away.  
Record: Near Mint(minus) to Mint......it's obvious that this record has hardly been played.  Both matt silver-grey labels are near-perfect....only during the first few seconds did I notice some light static-like sounds which is very hard to avoid due to the very quiet start of the record.  A very nice example and one that would be hard to upgrade unless acquired sealed... and even then. 
Box, Top and Bottom: VG....as usual, this box (especially the top portion) has sustained some wear. Mostly superficial scuffing....still very presentable. No corner splits.
