Syd Barrett 2 x 7" EPs FLAPDOODLE DEALING Italian Fan Club Box #102/200
Rare opportunity to acquire this double 7" EP of Syd's more obscure works (Milky Way, Birdy Hop, Word Song, Opel), licensed from Harvest Records in 1985 on behalf of the Italian Fan Club. Given in 1985 as a gift to Julian Cope by his then-manager Cally Callomon, who had done all of the pre-production and negotiations with Harvest Records, the disc was then filed away and kept safe for decades. It is, therefore very clean and fresh looking, the box remaining tough and looking just manufactured, except for a tiny raggedness to the spine (see photo) where the printed flap is 1mm too long. Both discs have just been played and are a very nice loud cut. All songs sound perfectly free of scratches, crackles or any other issues, though the sound on 'Word Song' appears ropey due to the surface noise of the master tape used. A lovely item, however.
