Description
Syd Barrett - Barrett ( 1970 EMI Harvest very first withdrawn pressing with FRONT LAMINATED FLIPBACK cover. SHSP 4007 stereo . Matrices: A1/B1 ). There's a few of these " Barrett " albums masquerading as " mega rare " . " Original " . " first pressing " ...etc etc ..... Have to laugh .......THIS is the only mega-rare and very first pressing of Syd Barrett,s second fragile broken offering. For the first few weeks only this came out with a laminated flip-back cover with heavyweight vinyl. EMI quickly changed it to a textured flip-back cover. These are naturally much more common than these super scarce laminated versions. Much rarer than the " Hunky Dory " laminated covers . This NEVER turns up now. First one I have had in about 20 years . And I,l offer it on a first come , first served set sale !. Front laminated cover is in lovely shape . Very clean indeed . Nice crisp opening edges . Only tiny creases at the spine. White front still gleams. Very slight traces of ringwear on the front . Extremely clean rear also with no writing , rips or tears. Fully readable spine has the original " pinched " edges . Garrod&Lofthouse Ltd. manufactured . Strong EX PLUS. Original company bag is present . EX. Iconic two shades of green Harvest labels show very little sign of play. Only very fine spindle traces. Free from any writing. EX . Super heavyweight vinyl ( all later pressings were much thinner and lighter ) lies flat and true on the platter. Gleaming playing surfaces have some fine lines only seen when examined under harsh spotlight . Glorious audio, far superior to any subsequent pressing or digital version. Absolutely slaughters the Simply Vinyl re-issue as well. A1/B1 matrices taken from the original first generation master tape. Plays very quiet indeed . Original superior quality pressing . Visual grading : EX. Sonic grading : EX PLUS. Dont think this ones gonna hang around too long !!.... Gradings as per : Record Collector Grading System definitions. Dealer/collector since 1974. All items fully guaranteed . All photos are of actual item for sale. No stock photos used. Worldwide customers very welcome. Severe delays to Russia at present due to Russian customs. Please bear this in mind if buying from Russia. Please don't send any payment until I have personally invoiced you with postal charge details. Any questions please get in touch . Thanks. Gordon.
