Estate find.
10" 78 RPM record.
T Bone Walker and his Guitar with Jack McVea and All Stars.
Old store stock from Hart's Records in St. Paul, Minnesota. Hart Callender also was a regional distributor. He closed his operation in 1952 following an auto accident, but removed his entire inventory to the basement of his home, as he always held out hope that he might get back into the record business. The records remained there until his death in 1996. The collection was sold at auction in 1997.
Condition of record is EX: although this record has NEVER BEEN PLAYED being stored & moved several times since 1952 have resulted in some slight damage: there is a latent but stable 2 1/2" crack as well as 1 edge chip which does not touch the grooves (see photo details). Also, Black & White label did not use the best quality shellac, so I'm sure there will be some surface noise when played.
