TALKING HEADS “Speaking In Tongues” 1983 1st Press, Vinyl NM Cover and Inner EX.


Really nice vintage 1st Press copy of this landmark album, manufactured at the Capitol Jacksonville plant. The vinyl is shiny with no visible marks, Near Mint. The cover has a tiny corner ding, and a small crease or two, with no losses. A small saw cut on the right of the bottom edge signifies an in-store play copy distributed upon release, EX condition. The black and white printed inner sleeve is intact with no tears, just a small seam split on one side, EX condition. A beautiful copy to play and collect.


The fifth studio album for Talking Heads, and the first produced by the band. Classic Talking Heads songs, “Burning Down The House”, “Girlfriend Is Better”, “This Must Be The Place” and more are here. The subsequent tour for this album was memorialized by the Jonathan Demme film documentary “Stop Making Sense” released in 1984. Sales of over 1 million here in the U.S. and “Burning Down The House” was actually a top 10 Pop single too. A must for vinyl collection, and it will sound great on a high end stereo rig.
