Up for auction is a pristine, Factory Sealed copy of the 1983 Talking Heads masterpiece, Speaking in Tongues. This is the Special Limited Edition (one of only 50,000 produced) featuring the legendary conceptual packaging designed by pop-art icon Robert Rauschenberg.

Why this copy is unique: Most copies of this edition were opened to interact with the rotating color-separation discs. Finding one still in its original factory shrink wrap 40+ years later is exceptionally rare. This is "New Old Stock" from a world-class private collection.

About the Packaging:

• The Clamshell: A vacuum-formed clear plastic case (famously manufactured by a company that packaged hot dogs because of the complex design requirements!).

• The Art: Includes three rotating transparent plastic discs (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) that create a "Revolver" kinetic effect when spun.

• The Vinyl: Pressed on beautiful, heavy-duty Clear Vinyl.

• The Award: This specific design won Robert Rauschenberg the Grammy Award for Best Recording Package in 1984.

Condition Note: This album is Factory Sealed. The shrink wrap is tight, and the outer "Special Limited Edition" hype sticker is present and vibrant. As with all original 1983 pressings, very minor "breathing" holes in the shrink or natural aging of the plastic may be present, but this is as close to "day-of-release" condition as you will find.
