Hello and thank you for checking out my record listings! I am a lifelong record-head who's selling his archives of about 4,000 lps because I'm BROOOOOKE! :)
TALKING HEADS Stop Making Sense 1984 Limited Edition booklet Sire 1-25121 NM/NM. BIG Talking Heads fan here, this copy is amazingly clean and tight. See the film if you've not yet...
Stop Making Sense is a live album by Talking Heads, the soundtrack to the film of the same name. It was released in September 1984 and features nine tracks from the movie, albeit with treatment and editing. The album spent over two years on the Billboard 200 chart. It was their first album to be distributed by EMI outside North America.
Limited pressings of the original LP version featured a full-color picture book wrapped around the album jacket; regular versions had many of the pictures (printed in black and white) and captions on the album's inner sleeve. The CD release of the album includes the full-color book, though rearranges the layout to conform to the dimensions of a square CD booklet (compared to the vertically-oriented rectangular shape of the LP book). In 1999, a 16-track re-release—with content and sound closely matching those of the movie—coincided with the 15th anniversary of the concert filming.
In May of 2018 I racked up $100,000 worth of credit card debt making my first feature film entitled: WRETCH. If you're interested in 80's sci-fi/horror/arthouse cinema and the work of David Lynch, you might consider renting my film on Amazon iTunes or most streaming platforms. AAAAND...on May 31st I was in a bicycle accident and shattered my right wrist and now I have a mountain of hospital bills to pay for because I wasn't insured.
So there's my sob story. Now let's make a deal!
I've been collecting records since 1992. most of the listings are going to be pretty straightforward with one to four pics of the album in question. I've done my best to grade fairly and accurately. If you need to see more pictures let me know and I'll take some for you and send through direct messager.
I used to work in a record store and I use pretty standard grading methods: POOR/FAIR/G/VG/VG+/EX/NM. In my listings, the condition of the album is listed first (VG) / the condition of the jacket is listed second (G) = VG/G I am erring on the side of grading fairly conservatively in most instances.
I'm starting most of my listings at the low-to-medium end of what the same albums have sold for in the past according to eBay and Discogs. That said, I plan to put "or best offer" on most of my listings as well, so we can make a deal need be.
I encourage anyone who wants to purchase multiple albums to message me with your proposal, we can try to work out a discount!
I will be shipping out all sold albums weekly on Saturdays. So, if you buy, and pay for, a record from me on Monday, you'll have to wait a few extra days...unless you need it rushed and in that case you can reach out to me and we can make other arrangements. Since I am unemployed right now and I have this broken wrist things are going slowly but I am around and available to respond to inquiries and offers readily.
All sales will be final. If you receive your album and you think I was horrendously off and my grading...we can discuss.
I want my records to go to good new homes. They've brought me much joy over the years and now it's time to let them go, but I definitely need to make decent money in the process!
I WILL OFFER A COMBINED SHIPPING DISCOUNT ON MULTIPLE LPS. Shipping costs takes supplies and USPS Media Mail rate into account.
So keep checking back as I'll be listing new albums all through July and August until everything is up online. And please, if you like 80s sci-fi and horror films offbeat quirky surreal and absurdist stuff, please consider checking out my feature film and help spread the word, it'll help me a ton.
Thank you very much, -Matthew
