This is one of the best classical guitar recordings ever made, by anyone. It was on the

TAS list forever. Julian Bream is playing Mauro Giuliani's "Concerto for Guitar and

Strings", and Malcolm Arnold's "Guitar Concerto, Op 67". Julian Bream is playing with

the Melos Ensemble and was recorded by the Decca team in England. The Arnold piece

was written for Bream and conducted by the composer. The Giuliani concerto is a lovely

concerto for strings and guitar. Breams instruments is wonderfully spot-lighted on these

two pieces. The recording is very realistic with beautiful imaging of the soundstage. You

can feel all the instruments in a semi-circle right in front of you. The bass is deep and well

defined. The strings from the Melos Ensemble are gorgeous and rich in texture.
