Here's a hard to find first pressing sought out by audiophiles. This is Respighi Pines of Rome and Fountains of Rome performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fritz Reiner. This is the RCA release with the original Living Stereo shaded dog label out of the U.S. (LSC-2426). This is a true first pressing, as the stampers in the dead wax end in 1S/1S. The original RCA inner sleeve is included in excellent condition.
Condition -The jacket looks great except for some wear at the upper right corner, and some very light ringwear on the back. The jacket grades at VG++. The record is very shiny with only light signs of play. The record grades at Near Mint Minus Minus by sight.
LISTENING GRADE: I listened to both sides. Side two sounded nice, but not quite as nice as it looked, as there was some low level static that was noticeable in the quiet parts. Side one was similar, but it had moments of even more static. When I took a closer look at the record, I noticed side one has some sporadic pressing bubbles toward the end of the side which resulted in sporadic louder noise. By listening grade, side two is VG+ to VG++, while side one was VG to VG++. Despite these problems, all the sonic greatness of this famous audiophile-grade first press is there, and perhaps some cleaning can be done to reduce or remove the static.
Regarding shipping - I ship quickly using new professional grade materials.
Regarding grading - I try to grade by Goldmine standards. I do not use the grade Mint on unsealed, opened records. The highest grade I give to unsealed records is Near Mint. Grading here is strictly by sight.
